On September 17, many of our CCDF-USA counties celebrated Constitution Day in various ways. CCDF-Duval had an amazing event that we would like to highlight for you!
Imagine this…
Fantastic weather, aboard the USS ORLECK, with patriotic music sung by the “Let Freedom Sing” choir, and the Parade of Colors given by the Bishop Kenny NJROTC.
The speaker lineup included:KK
- Daniel Bean, President of the Jacksonville Naval Museum
- Al Ferraro, City Councilman
- Master Sergeant, Reginald Blount, U. S. Army, Retired
- The reading of the Bill of Rights by students from Jacksonville Classical Academy
Master Sergeant Blount shared with CCDF-Duval citizens and staff how the military has reduced the “conversation” about the Constitution over his career, and how soldiers today aren’t inspired to protect this document designed to protect us from tyranny! Councilman Al Ferraro shared how he has had to fight to protect our freedoms and how important it is for us to ensure we elect “constitutionally-focused” leaders committed to protecting our Constitution! CCDF-Duval Executive Director, Kathleen Murray was quoted saying: “I was reminded today how valuable CCDF-Duval is and how far we have come in just nine short months and the impact it already has had in our great Northeast Florida community! We are blessed to have this organization to give us the voice needed to create the local action to change the direction of Duval, which will ultimately have a national impact. We must take every opportunity to protect our Founding Documents and God given rights and only elect officials who will do so on our behalf.” CCDF-USA is so proud of our CCDF-Duval family. They are doing fantastic things for the citizens of Duval.
